Microgaming Announces Sequel To ‘Game Of Thrones’ Video Slot
Microgaming has announced a brand new Game Of Thrones branded video slot.
The game provider, which is known for games such as Jungle Jim And The Lost Sphinx and Immortal Romance, made the announcement at the ICE London 2020 event where it announced that it had built on its previous deal with HBO from 2014 to develop the new game, set for a release later this year.
According to Microgaming, the new Game Of Thrones Power Stacks will feature the hit television show’s leading characters and personalities and lead players through the mysterious world of Westeros. The brand new game is being developed by Microgaming partner Slingshot Studios, although no other details have been revealed.
Microgaming released its first Game Of Thrones-themed slot back in 2014 when the fantasy-drama show was at its peak. The slot, which is available in both 243 or 15 paylines, included four Free Spins features based on the four main houses of Westeros, offered players cash prizes, and plenty more bonuses.
Speaking about the upcoming slot, Microgaming’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “The Game Of Thrones brand has garnered a devoted following among viewers, along with incredible media attention. We are excited to extend our partnership with HBO to supply a new Game Of Thrones online slot that honours and builds on the brand’s immense popularity.”
He continued, saying: “In the spirit of the show, we will be working hard to deliver a quality, feature-rich slot game so that players can enjoy an authentic Game Of Thrones-themed gaming experience.”
Branded Microgaming Slots
News of the Game Of Thrones video slot comes during the ICE London 2020 event. Earlier this week, the famous slot developer revealed that it had renewed its licensing agreement with Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc., to develop and release a brand new video slot based on the Tarzan brand. The new game, which is being developed by Fortune Factory Studios, will take inspiration from Burroughs’ novel series and follow on from Microgaming’s original Tarzan game.
Also this week, Microgaming announced that it had struck a partnership with music producer and DJ Deadmau5 to develop and release a video slot based on the musician’s cube v3 tour. According to Microgaming, the game, which will release later this year, will combine Deadmau5’s music and look with an online gaming experience. The Deadmau5 branded video slot will be developed by Microgaming partnered brand Eurostar Studios, although no other details were revealed.
In a statement about the new partnership, Jean-Luc Ferriere said: “The addition of Deadmau5 to our sizeable branded content offering, which already includes some of the biggest names in entertainment, highlights our commitment to diversifying and innovating across our range. We look forward to launching this unique online slot to operators this year.”
