William Hill Expands Sports Betting Presence With Golden Entertainment
The US branch of British bookmaker William Hill has continued to expand its presence in the United States after forming an agreement with Golden Entertainment.
Under their partnership, William Hill will operate the company’s race and sports betting activities in Nevada, Maryland, and Montana.
Their current agreement sees William Hill operate the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Gambling Hall on behalf of the company.
William Hill also manages deposit kiosks at taverns and other gaming locations owned by Golden Entertainment. Currently, there are 80 kiosks but the deal will add 100 more.
Under the extended agreement, William Hill will assume control over more properties in Nevada and Arizona including the Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower, Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas and Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin.
A New Deal
The bookmaker announced the company’s extended agreement last week. In a press release, Joe Asher, the Chief Executive Officer of William Hill US, said:
“Since entering the United States, William Hill has had an excellent relationship with Golden Entertainment, and we look forward to continuing it for many years to come in Nevada and elsewhere as opportunities arise.”
Steve Arcana, the COO of Golden Entertainment, Inc., said: “We are excited to expand our current relationship with William Hill, which has a proven sports wagering platform not only in Nevada but around the world.
“We look forward to growing our business in Nevada and other jurisdictions through this partnership.”
The news comes after William Hill announced it had made an agreement with US gaming giant IGT in order to secure betting deals with US state lotteries.
The bookmakers also formed a partnership with Eldorado Resorts, a deal which led William Hill’s shares rise by 6%.
